Asbestos Removal & Disposal

If you have building material that you suspect may contain asbestos and you want to dispose of it correctly, then Annacis Waste Disposal is your first choice. Asbestos can be found in buildings constructed before 1990 and is commonly found in the following building materials:

  • Drywall
  • Vinyl flooring
  • Heating ducting tape
  • Vermiculite insulation
  • Roofing materials
  • Concrete wall and roof tiles

If you suspect that you have building materials that contain asbestos, you can make the safe choice and choose to dispose of them as asbestos waste. Deciding this means you DO NOT need to have them tested. What it does mean is you will need to package this waste for disposal while meeting all requirements for the transportation of hazardous waste, and asbestos is most definitely hazardous!

How to Properly Package Asbestos Waste for Transportation & Disposal

When packaging asbestos, safety needs to be your first and foremost priority. If you choose not to use an asbestos contractor, minimizing your exposure to breathing asbestos fibres is your first priority. This includes the fibres contaminating the interior of your building.

Asbestos-containing materials (ACM) must be packed within two certified 6-mil asbestos bags.

Our preferred method is as follows:

  1. Place the material into a marked bag that is printed with all the warnings and information required by law. This must be done without damaging the bag. The bag is then twisted and taped shut.
  2. Next, this bag is inserted into a second, clear bag and also twisted closed and taped securely. This allows the authorities to confirm that there are in fact two bags, as per regulations, and the warning markings are clearly visible through the clear, outer bag.
  3. For safety reasons, the weight of these bags cannot exceed 15 Kg (35 lbs).

We have all the proper certified asbestos bags in stock. Please call for pricing.
